Whether you’re a new player or have been with Anime Squadron since its early access days, progression comes down to building the right loadout. Anime Squadron Tier List for Units Explained
Now you know how each unit ranks in the Anime Squadron tier list. These rankings focus on overall usefulness, prioritizing damage dealers while still accounting for supports and utility units that can carry teams through harder content.
- Puppeteer (Transcendent) (SS Tier): Great flying type unit with massive tanking and damage capabilities. Easily one of the stronger frontliners.
- Gometa (SSJ4) (SS Tier): One of the strongest all-around DPS in the game and the centerpiece of most endgame teams. He scales extremely well, has excellent survivability, and remains useful in every mode.
- Woo (Shadow) (SS Tier): One of the highest damage units available thanks to his Shadow Soldier mechanic. His scaling allows him to dominate long fights and Infinite Mode.
- Madora (Gunbai) (SS Tier): Massive burn damage, powerful meteor attacks, and strong boss-killing potential make him a top-tier damage dealer. He offers consistent value from mid-game through endgame.
- Shanron (SS Tier): Incredible damage and utility packed into one unit. His only drawback is the massive cost, which makes him harder to use for newer players.
- Rizzuto (Sage) (S Tier): A reliable DPS that performs well across most content. He lacks the overwhelming power of the SS tier units, but remains a strong choice.
- Vegata (SSJ Full Power) (S Tier): Solid damage output and important for progressing toward Gometa. His ultimate is cheap and effective, making him valuable throughout progression.
- Goki (SSJ4 Full Power) (S Tier): Strong damage dealer that serves as a key evolution component for Gometa. Worth investing in even if he eventually gets replaced.
- Shinks (S Tier): The best support unit currently available. His damage reduction aura and dodge support can dramatically improve team survivability.
- Fastwagon (S Tier): The only dedicated money unit and practically mandatory for progression. Extra income speeds up every run and enables expensive units faster.
- Karashi (Sharingan) (A Tier): The fastest mythic in the game and excellent for clearing weaker stages. His speed makes him useful even when his damage falls behind top-tier units.
- Shield Hero (A Tier): One of the best tanks available thanks to his damage redirection abilities. He becomes more valuable as the content gets harder.
- Rudaus (A Tier): Provides valuable cooldown reduction support for nearby allies. He is niche but can improve certain endgame team compositions significantly.
- Big Beard (B Tier): Decent as both a tank and DPS unit. He is useful early on but gets overshadowed by stronger specialists later.
- Mamosa (B Tier): Offers healing support that can help newer players. Her impact becomes less noticeable in harder content where incoming damage is much higher.
- Choi (C Tier): A serviceable beginner DPS but quickly falls off. Most players will replace him once they obtain stronger units.
- Tranks (C Tier): Useful during early progression but lacks the stats and utility needed for endgame content.
- Zaro (C Tier): Can help fill team slots when starting out. His overall performance is average compared to other options.
- Shin (D Tier): Limited usefulness outside the earliest stages of the game. There are better alternatives available almost immediately.
- Igras (D Tier): Primarily a starter option that gets outclassed quickly. Not worth investing resources in the long term.
Anime Squadron Traits Tier List
Having units will not be enough in Anime Squadron. You will still need the perfect traits on top of the strongest units. Here is the full traits tier list for Anime Squadron:
| Tier | Traits |
|---|---|
| SS | Superior, Cloner |
| S | Entrepreneur, Rebirth |
| A | Lethal, Sniper, Wealthy |
| B | Knight, Juggernaut |
| C | Ranger, Powerful |
| D | Sight, Endure, Tank |
Anime Squadron Tier List for Traits Explained
Traits can completely change how a unit performs, sometimes providing a bigger power spike than upgrading the unit itself. While damage-focused traits dominate the current meta, utility traits like Cloner and Entrepreneur remain incredibly valuable because they improve your entire team’s performance rather than just a single unit.
- Superior (SS Tier): Grants +200% DMG, +300% HP, +30% RNG, -15% CD, and +1 Spawn Cap. The combination of massive stats, cooldown reduction, and an extra placement slot makes it the strongest trait in the game by a wide margin.
- Cloner (SS Tier): Grants +40% DMG, +60% HP, and spawns 2 units instead of 1. Doubling a powerful unit often provides more overall value than raw stat boosts, especially on top-tier DPS characters.
- Entrepreneur (S Tier): Grants -40% Cost, +30% DMG, and +30% HP. The large cost reduction makes expensive units much easier to deploy while still providing solid combat bonuses.
- Rebirth (S Tier): Grants +35% DMG, +50% HP, +20% RNG, and respawns with 50% HP once after dying. The extra life can be extremely valuable on hard stages and Infinite Mode while also offering strong offensive stats.
- Sniper (A Tier): Grants +20% DMG and +40% RNG. The huge range increase allows units to attack sooner and stay active longer throughout a match.
- Lethal (A Tier): Grants +20% DMG and -10% CD. Cooldown reduction directly boosts overall DPS, making it one of the best non-secret traits for damage dealers.
- Wealthy (A Tier): Grants -20% Cost and +10% DMG. While not as strong as Entrepreneur, it still helps expensive units hit the field faster.
- Juggernaut (B Tier): Grants +50% HP. A strong survivability trait for tanks and frontline units, though most DPS units prefer offensive bonuses.
- Knight (B Tier): Grants +20% DMG and +5% HP. A decent all-around trait that helps early and mid-game progression but gets overshadowed by higher-tier options.
- Ranger (C Tier): Grants +25% RNG. The range increase is useful, but it lacks the damage or utility needed to compete with stronger traits.
- Powerful (C Tier): Grants +10% DMG. A simple damage boost that works on any unit, but the increase is too small for endgame builds.
- Tank (D Tier): Grants +30% HP. Useful only on dedicated tanks and offers little value for most team compositions.
- Sight (D Tier): Grants +10% RNG. The range increase is too minor to noticeably impact a unit’s performance.
- Endure (D Tier): Grants +10% HP. The smallest survivability boost in the game and generally worth rerolling immediately.
That ends the full Anime Squadron tier list. Which units and traits are you using to progress in the game? Let us know in the comments.
Gometa (SSJ4) is currently the best overall unit in Anime Squadron. He combines incredible damage, survivability, and scaling, making him the top choice for Story, Raids, and Infinite Mode.
Superior is the strongest trait in the game thanks to its massive stat boosts of +300% DMG, +300% HP, +30% RNG, and +1 Placement. If you cannot get Superior, Cloner is the next best option because it allows you to deploy two copies of the same unit.
Beginners should prioritize Fastwagon, Goki (SSJ4 Full Power), Vegata (SSJ Full Power), and Shinks. Fastwagon helps generate money, while the others provide a strong foundation that can eventually lead to obtaining top-tier units like Gometa.
The strongest team setups usually include a main DPS like Gometa or Woo (Shadow), a support unit such as Shinks, and a money unit like Fastwagon. Adding powerful late-game units such as Madora and Shanron creates a balanced team capable of handling every game mode.
